From July 14th through July 31st, Gateway Playhouse presents a sinfully entertaining evening with the fourth show of its 61st season, the Off-Broadway phenomenon, Altar Boyz. The show is making its Long Island premiere, after running for an astounding 2,032 performances over the course of 5 years in New York City and winning the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical. The Ailey Extension is keeping its 5th birthday festivities rolling by celebrating what makes it great - its students. Goodman Resident Director Chuck Smith, who helmed Wilson's 2005 play The Story at the Goodman, directs this Chicago premiere, featuring a cast of Broadway stars and local favorites. A design team led by Tony Award-nominated Set Designer Riccardo Hernandez brings the production to life using inspiration from the iconic imagery of photojournalist Charles Moore. The Good Negro runs May 1 - June 6, 2010 in the Goodman's Albert Theatre. Tickets start at $25.
