Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for the world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! John Leguizamo teams up with Artistic Director Tony Taccone for this musical comedy, following their collaboration on the hit one-man show Latin History for Morons, which received its world premiere at Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway. Tonight, FOX will air their third live musical production. Following in the footsteps of Grease and A Christmas Story, the network will be presenting Jonathan Larson's Rent, a rock musical that is loosely based on Giacomo Puccini's 1896 opera, La boheme. The story follows a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in New York City's East Village in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

Producer Stephen Gabriel/Work Light Productions released today a music video in anticipation of the 50th Anniversary North American tour of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical Jesus Christ Superstar.  The Olivier Award-winning production first premiered in 2016 at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in London.  The North American tour launches in Austin, TX in the fall of 2019 and celebrates fifty epic years since the original rock opera concept album release that began this musical theatre phenomenon.

Moonlight Presents offers two holiday events in December at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. Sponsored by Dr. Bronner's, the shows include the Doo Wop Project Christmas, featuring stars of Broadway's "Jersey Boys" and "Motown: the Musical," on Sat., Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Amongst the singers is San Diego native Charl Brown who began his musical theatre journey as a student at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts.
