Today in 1977, Chicago closed at the 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rodgers Theatre), where it ran for 936 performances. Chicago is a musical set in Prohibition-era Chicago, with music is by John Kander with lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. Chicago's 1996 Broadway revival holds the record for the longest-running musical revival on Broadway and is its fourth longest-running show.

The company of Broadway's The Visit gathered in the studio on April 27th to record the musical's original cast album. The Visit is the final musical ever written by legendary Oscar Award, Grammy Award and Tony Award-winning composer John Kander and his writing partner lyricist Fred Ebb, before Mr. Ebb passed away. Three of Broadway's most popular musical creators, Steven Lutvak, Jeanine Tesori, and David Yazbek, recently gathered to perform their own work in an intimate evening of music as part of the Library of Congress' Songs of America project. The production will star Taylor (NBC's Smash, Broadway's Rock of Ages) as The Emcee and Weed (Off-Broadway's Heathers: The Musical, Found) as Sally Bowles.
