A closed reading was just held for Excalibur, featuring music by Frank Wildhorn, a book by Ivan Menchell, lyrics by Robin Lerner, and orchestrations by Koen Schoots. Directed by Francesca Zambello, the show was commissioned by Werner Signer of Theater St. Gallen, in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Opening night will be in March 2014.

Guys and Dolls, subtitled 'A Musical Fable of Broadway' is set in the colorful world of New York City in the mid 20th century. It is considered one of the greatest musicals of all time. Guys and Dolls is populated with gangsters and gamblers, missionary dolls and beautiful showgirls, and has one of the greatest musical scores in the history of American theatre. Including Frank Loesser hits; 'Luck Be A Lady', 'Guys and Dolls', 'If I Were A Bell', and 'Sit Down Your Rockin' The Boat'.

Westchester Broadway Theatre presents Guys and Dolls, featuring Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser and Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. WBT's production will be directed and choreographed by Richard Stafford, with musical director Jihwan Kim. The show will run April 11 - June 9, 2013.

Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe may be best known for MY FAIR LADY, their 1956 musical adaptation of Pygmalion. The show was an incredible success and left anticipation high for another Lerner & Loewe musical. After tumultuous writing, casting, and rehearsing processes their follow up opened on Broadway in 1960. The musical, simply titled CAMELOT, was based on T. H. White's The Once and Future King. It opened to mixed reviews, but the Original Cast Album LP was America's best selling LP for a solid 60 weeks. After the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, it was publicized that the original cast recording had been a favorite of the Kennedy family in while in the White House, forever tying Lerner & Loewe's CAMELOT to the glamorous, media culture Camelot era of the Kennedy family.

Kicking off 2013 at The Hobby Center, Theatre Under the Stars is presenting two classic musicals back to back. First TUTS is offering a star-studded production of CAMELOT followed by MAN OF LA MANCHA. CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. A full track list for this year's 14th edition has not yet been announced, but the cast of Broadway-Bound REBECCA was already hard a work recording their track for the album. Playing its 9,566th & 9,567th performances at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street), it becomes the first Broadway production ever to have run 23 years.
