Pride Films and Plays will follow up its sold-out Jeff Recommended run of Terrence McNally's Some Men with the Chicago premiere of The Submission by Jeff Talbott, winner of the 2011 Laurent's/Hatcher Award and the Outer Circle's John Gassner Award for Best New Play in 2012. Sundance Selects announced today that the company is acquiring North American rights to LAST WEEKEND, starring Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson. This contemporary Latin-themed musical features exhilarating dancing, Grammy-award winning songs and the humor and sweetness of dual love stories in a struggling community. Set in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City, 'In the Heights' is about a Dominican-American neighborhood on the brink of change. Performance dates are tonight, Feb. 20-22, Feb. 27-March 1 and March 6-7 at 7:00 p.m. and a 2 p.m. performance on Saturday, March 1, 2014.

As Tara Thornton in True Blood, Rutina Wesley has survived an abusive alcoholic fundamentalist mother, a murdered boyfriend, and a sadistic vampire. But Tara is scarcely worse off than the character Wesley is playing in Charles Fuller's new play, One Night, at the Cherry Lane. Wesley is now portraying Alicia, a military veteran.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) will debut Theatre In The Rough with a script-in-hand reading of William Shakespeare's Richard III featuring Jeffrey Donovan of USA's Burn Notice. The reading will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 (7pm) at Babson College's Sorenson Center for the Arts, 231 Forest St, Park Manor South, Wellesley, MA. The reading is free and open to the public.
