This riotous re-telling of Robert Louis Stevenson’s adventure novella is jam-packed with 20th century pop music and 18th century romance. Performed by a dynamic ensemble of actor-musicians, Kidnapped is a colourful coming-of-age story - shot-through with Stevenson’s trademark blend of poetry, humour and heart.

The Stage Door Performing Arts Academy is producing the musical Treasure Island, by: Jim Eiler, for their spring semester.

Next up at L.A. Theatre Works, The Confession of Henry Jekyll, M.D., David Rambo’s adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic horror novel, “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” playing April 14th through April 16th. Anna Lyse Erikson directs Seamus Dever in the titular role. David managed to squeeze out some time between his many, many producing/ writing gigs to answer a few of my queries.

Through Center Theatre Group’s Education and Community Partnerships’ Community Play Readings, Boyle Heights libraries will be the first to experience new works from three local playwrights in March and May.

Theatre for the TV generation, perhaps.

This swashbuckling new production from the National Theatre of Scotland, adapted by Isobel McArthur with Michael John McCarthy, co-directed by Isobel McArthur and Gareth Nicholls, premieres at the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock in March 2023 before touring to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, Perth, Newcastle and Brighton.   

Treasure Island runs July 13-23, 2023 at Storytellers Theatre. The production is written by Robert Louis Stevenson, adapted by Storyteller Theatre, and directed by Justice & Brenna Wickstrom.

Central Works 2023 season begins March 18 and runs through November 12, 2023 featuring the 3 new world premieres at the historic Berkeley City Club.

The Commonweal Theatre Company has announced its 35th anniversary season with a set of five bold and exciting productions.

Jekyll and Hyde comes to Zorlou PSM this week. Performances run 9 - 10 January, 2023.

The 38th Adelaide Festival, to be launched this Wednesday 9 November, at Adelaide Town Hall and via livestream offers a total of 52 events in theatre, music, opera, dance, media and visual arts, including major festivals-within-the-festival Adelaide Writers' Week, UKARIA Chamber Landscapes and WOMADelaide – over 17 days and nights from Friday 3 to Sunday 19 March.

National Theatre of Scotland and Selkie Productions in association with Screen Scotland and Sky Arts will present The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - Live from Leith Theatre - a digital stream.

Audrey Brisson is a quirky intrigue at 4’10”. With little capacity to seem towering and imposing, Brisson has instead perfected the subtleties that are available to her, her ever widening eyes and steadily creeping sneer betray volumes about the conflict raging within the respectable Victorian gentlemen she portrays.

Jekyll and Hyde, currently running to great critical acclaim at Derby Theatre, will arrive at Queen's Theatre Hornchurch 26 October – 12 November.

The staging, set design, and lighting work together to create pure theatre magic as the scenery changes from the inn to the ship to the island and so forth without the audience even realizing it. The energy and talents of the cast keep the audience engaged as they join in this swashbuckling adventure.

Northern Kentucky University's School of the Arts continues its Theatre & Dance season with 'Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde' adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, running Oct. 27 – Nov. 6, 2022, at NKU's Stauss Theatre. Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection.

Idle Muse Theatre Company is presenting the world premiere production of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, adapted by Idle Muse Company Member Michael Dalberg and directed by Morgan Manasa, now playing through October 23 at The Edge Off-Broadway Theater. Get a first look at photos here!

Chenango River Theatre will present the Jeffrey Hatcher's adaptation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, based on the novella by Robert Louis Stevenson, running October 7 -23.

Open Stage, a theatre company in downtown Harrisburg, will present Treasure Island on its Capital Blue Cross Main Stage from Oct. 8-29. The exciting stage adaptation by Bryony Lavery brings to life Robert Louis Stevenson's story of murder, money and mutiny.
