Since opening on April 1, 1981, with a kick-off week of concerts that featured Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, Willie Nelson, Janie Fricke, and Waylon Jennings, Billy Bob's Texas has been named the Academy of Country Music's “Nightclub of the Year” ten-times. Now, in 2018, the concerts continue in June with performances by many Texas favorites and some of Country music's finest artists.

Today, one week after the Recording Academy's GRAMMYs on the Hill® Awards and Advocacy Day, music creators are applauding the House of Representatives' passage of the Music Modernization Act (H.R. 5447). Introduced on April 10, 2018, by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Ranking Member Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), the bill quickly gained bipartisan support for the need to update music copyright laws and align legislation with the changes in music consumption, ensuring fair pay for all creators. The historic bill, if passed by the Senate, would be the biggest update to music legislation in 40 years.

The evening is part of the Park City Institute's 20th Anniversary Main Stage Season. Lewinsky, who describes herself as Patient Zero of Internet Shaming, gave a TED Talk on the subject that has been viewed over 11 million times. She will offer insights into navigating the digital age.
