ARTICULATE THEATRE is pleased to announce the participants in our Articulating the Arts panel discussion on folk music. Articulate Theatre, an ensemble collection of playwrights, actors, directors and designers, is presenting its signature benefit performance - Articulating the Arts: Folk City Scenes. The event includes a discussion after the Saturday show with producer Doug Yeager, musician Phil Marsh, director David Marquez and author Stephen Petrus.

 Returning after last year's sold-out concert, singer/songwriter Noel Paul Stookey (Paul of Peter, Paul and Mary), brings his intimate musicality to the Rubicon Theatre Company stage once again for a one-night-only, two-hour event of story and melody spanning 50 years. The concert, entitled "At Home: Ventura," takes place on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Rubicon's home in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District. Articulate Theatre Company is proud to announce the playwrights chosen for their signature event, Articulating the Arts. Each AtA is themed around an artistic discipline, such as architecture, dance, painting, and for this event, folk music. Our playwrights use these other art forms as inspiration for new plays, resulting in an increased connection between theatre artists and artists of other disciplines. Subtitled 'Folk City Scenes' this Articulating the Arts will showcase plays inspired by folk songs such as City of New Orleans, Puff the Magic Dragon, and Turn! Turn! Turn! The full show listing is:

Miller Theatre inaugurates a new holiday tradition, a playful production that brings to life Saint-Saens' musical 'salute to feathers, fur, and fins' - CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS. A modern twist on Victorian toy theater, this imaginative staging combines music, scenic elements, puppetry, and movement, plus the clever verses of Ogden Nash. Curtain-raisers from the 16th Century to present-day set the stage and kindle the spirit of the holidays. Just about an hour in length, this family-friendly presentation is the perfect December treat to delight imaginative audiences of all ages.
