Today we are continuing BroadwayWorlds ongoing interview series with the stars and creative team of NBCs hit musical drama series SMASH with a Broadway/Hollywood leading man who first made his mark on the stage creating a role in the Tony Award-winning TITANIC after having appeared in BLOOD BROTHERS and CAROUSEL and who has since starred in productions as diverse as SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, NEXT TO NORMAL, SHREK and many more - the jovial and multi-talented Brian d'Arcy James. Discussing all aspects of his role on SMASH as well as cluing us in on what we can expect from Mondays highly awaited season finale, d'Arcy James and I also take a look back at his career onstage thus far and he shares fond recollections of working on TITANIC, SWEET SMELL, SHREK, NEXT TO NORMAL, TIME STANDS STILL and THE WILD PARTY Off-Broadway as well as offers his observations of his collaborators and co-stars in each endeavor. The Public Theater yesterday announced complete casting today for AS YOU LIKE IT, the first show of the 50th Anniversary season of free Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, AS YOU LIKE IT will begin previews on Tuesday, June 5 and continue for four weeks through Saturday, June 30, with an official press opening on Thursday, June 21. The Public Theater will continue its popular Shakespeare Salon Series this month with an engaging conversation with Director Daniel Sullivan, who will talk about this summers upcoming Shakespeare in the Park production of AS YOU LIKE IT. Moderated by Shakespeare Initiative Director Barry Edelstein, this intimate event will be held on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Chinatown Brasserie (380 Lafayette Street). Confirmed: Donna Murphy to Star in INTO THE WOODS in Central Park

As first reported exclusively by BroadwayWorld.com last week, the Public Theater confirmed today that Tony Award-winner Donna Murphy has been cast as The Witch in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapines beloved musical INTO THE WOODS, directed by Timothy Sheader with co-direction by Liam Steel. Murphy last performed at the Delacorte in the Shakepeare in the Park production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood in 1985. INTO THE WOODS will begin previews on Monday, July 23 and continue for five weeks through Saturday, August 25 with an official press opening on Thursday, August 9.

Nick Blaemire and The Hustle To Play Bowery Electric, 4/9

Nick Blaemire, currently starring in the Broadway Revival of GODSPELL, will perform a set with his band the Hustle at the rock venue Bowery Electric on Monday, April 9th at 8:30pm. The band recently released their debut self-titled EP, which will be available for purchase at the venue as well as digitally on iTunes, CD Baby, Bandcamp, Amazon and Spotify. Burning Coal Theatre Company presents BUSINESS SPEAK - How Business People Can Use the Tools of an Actor's Trade, a four week class that presents the non-actor with the fundamental tools of the actors trade: confidence, articulation, improvisation, and how to concisely convey ideas, using your voice and your body. Burning Coal Theatre Companys Artistic Director, Jerome Davis, and Education Director Ian Finley will teach this class on the art of public speaking.
