The 2016 Kesselring Prize for Playwriting - given annually by the National Arts Club to an outstanding new playwright on the verge of national recognition - will be presented this year to Lindsey Ferrentino for her play UGLY LIES THE BONE, it has been announced by the Kesselring Prize committee.

The Directors Company, in association with Pascal Productions, will present A BETTER PLACE, a new work by playwright Wendy Beckett (Anais Nin: One Of Her Lives, A Charity Case) and directed by Evan Bergman (Love Therapy), will play a limited six-week engagement this spring at The Duke on 42nd Street, a NEW 42ND STREET project (229 West 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues).

The reading will star four-time Tony Award Nominee Tovah Feldshuh (TV: 'The Walking Dead'; Broadway: Irena's Vow, Pippin, Golda's Balcony), Olivia Oguma (Broadway: Les Miserables. TV: 'Odd Mom Out') and John Stanisci (Broadway: Irena's Vow).

Fellowship For Performing Arts (FPA) (Artistic Director Max McLean) is proud to present the New York return of THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, which begins performances tonight as the second show in FPA's inaugural 2015/2016 New York season at The Pearl Theatre (555 West 42nd Street). Based on the novel by C.S. Lewis and adapted for the stage by FPA Founder and Artistic Director Max McLean and Jeff Fiske, THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS will officially open on Wednesday, January 13 for a strictly limited run through Sunday, January 24.

Based on the novel by C.S. Lewis and adapted for the stage by FPA Founder and Artistic Director Max McLean and Brian Watkins (My Daughter Keeps Our Hammer), C.S. LEWIS' THE GREAT DIVORCE opens tonight, December 3, 2015 for a strictly limited run through Sunday, January 3, 2016.

The awards ceremony for the prestigious Kesselring Prize for Playwriting will be open to the public when the  prize is presented on Sunday, November 22 at 4 pm at the historic National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South) in NYC.  The Prize will be awarded to Lucas Hnath for his play THE CHRISTIANS, and excerpts from the play will be performed by members of the cast from the play's recent critically-acclaimed NYC debut at Playwrights Horizons, along with portions other works by Mr. Hnath. 

SAG nominee Sarita Choudhury (Homeland, Learning To Drive, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1) has joined Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winnner Kathleen Turner (The War Of The Roses, The Virgin Suicides, Marley & Me), Emmy nominee and Drama Desk Award winner David Morse (The Hurt Locker, Disturbia, The Green Mile) and SAG nominee and American Movie Award winner Stelio Savante (The Making Of The Mob: NY, Eisenstein In Guanajuato, American Genius) in the cast of Invictus Theater Company's reading of the new play JEREMIAH 5:1.

The Kesselring Prize for playwriting -- given by the National Arts Club in New York since 1980 -- returns this year following a six-year hiatus with the announcement that Lucas Hnath is the recipient of the 2015 Kesselring Prize. Hnath was submitted by The Actors Theatre of Louisville for his new play The Christians, which debuted there at the Humana Festival and is currently playing off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in NYC. The play is directed by Les Waters.
