The producers of the new Broadway musical Soul Doctor, about the life and music of Shlomo Carlebach and his unlikely friendship with Nina Simone, have announced the show's performance schedule during the upcoming High Holy Days. Also, "Talkback Tuesday" will begin on Tuesday, September 3rd with Michael Steinhardt, co-founder ofTaglit-Birthright Israel. This post-show discussion will take place immediately following that performance and is free for all audience members attending that evening's show.

In today's New York Times 'In Performance' video, SOUL DOCTOR's Eric Anderson, who portrays real-life folk-singing Rabbi Schlomo Carlebach and Amber Iman, who portrays singer Nina Simone, the Rabbi's friend sing the number 'Always With You.'

This year's Critics Circle Awards, sponsored by Actor's Equity Association, today announced is nominees for excellence in San Francisco Bay area theater. Berkeley Rep's production of American Idiot, which played in the fall of 2009, leads with 12 nominations and will open on Broadway this spring.
