Marin Theatre Company has announced the cast and creative team for the continued world premiere of Justice: A New Musical, the groundbreaking musical helmed by MTC’s recent Mellon National Playwright in Residence Lauren M. Gunderson and award­-winning composer/lyricist duo, Bree Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan.

To kick off its 55th Season, Orange County's Tony Award-winning regional theater South Coast Repertory is presenting a charming new stage adaptation of the Jane Austen literary classic SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, which continues performances in Costa Mesa through September 29. In tone, pacing, and casting, SCR's fresh if still lengthy adaptation of the 1811 novel is lovingly fluffy and buoyant, yet achingly relatable and grounded-just the sort of expectation one gets from a reverent adaptation of a work from one of literature's most revered female voices.

Capital Stage presents the Special Holiday Production and Sacramento Premiere of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon. This instant holiday classic continues the story of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and has delighted audiences since its premiere in 2016. Miss Bennet will be directed by Capital Stage Co-Founder Peter Mohrmann and is a special production in addition to the 2017/18 Season. Performances will run from December 6 - 30, 2017 with a Press Opening on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 8:00 pm.

Rehearsals have begun for Samuel Beckett's classic ENDGAME, directed by one of Beckett's most renowned interpreters Alan Mandell at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, April 24 through May 22, 2016. An original multimedia play inspired by the Mexican tradition of Dia De Los Muertos (Day of The Dead) is premiering at the Matrix Theatre on October 10. This unique theatrical experience will combine performing arts disciplines such as mime, clowning, live orchestral music, stunts, puppetry and video art.

The producers of the new Broadway musical Soul Doctor, about the life and music of Shlomo Carlebach and his unlikely friendship with Nina Simone, announced today that the show will play its final performance on Sunday, October 13 at 3pm. Following a Off-Broadway run last year and in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Soul Doctor began previews at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre on July 17 and had its official opening on Thursday, August 15. Upon its closing, Soul Doctor will have played 32 previews and 66 regular performances.

The producers of the new Broadway musical Soul Doctor - about the life and music of Shlomo Carlebach and his unlikely friendship with Nina Simone - have formed an ambitious partnership with Michael Steinhardt's Birthright Israel alumni effort, The Alumni Community, the organization's primary provider of post programming, and the central address for participants when they return home from their Israel experience. The partnership, a first for The Alumni Community, includes the opportunity for 5,000 alumni to see Soul Doctor, participate in exclusive receptions and post-performance talkbacks, and is being underwritten by Mr. Steinhardt, co-founder of Birthright Israel.
