The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) and Newtown Arts Company welcome the return of a student theater festival to the newly reopened Playhouse after an absence of two years. The BCP Student Theater Festival, produced by Newtown Arts Company and the Playhouse, will feature high schools and middle schools from the Pennsylvania and New Jersey area. 3-Day Weekend Producing Intensive Set for Snapple Center, 4/19-21 by BWW News Desk - Apr 03, 2013
The Commercial Theater Institute's (CTI) 32nd annual 3-Day Weekend Producing Intensive will take place on April 19 - 21, 2013 at the Snapple Theater Center (210 West 50th Street). For the first time, the 3 day course will feature a concentration on the creative development process. Four new musicals currently in development and participants in previous NAMT (National Alliance of Musical Theatre) Festivals of New Musicals will be presented, followed by a discussion and analysis of their commercial creative potential. Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) has announced Summer of '42 as the final piece of its first full summer season. Featuring a book by Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster (Little Shop of Horrors) and music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum (Vanities), Summer of '42 is based upon the novel and screenplay by Herman Raucher. Tony Award nominee Lonny Price (A Class Act) makes his directorial return to the Bucks County Playhouse following A Grand Night for Singing, the first show of last year's grand re-opening. (more...)

Tyne Daly to Lead New Terrence McNally Play at Bucks County Playhouse This Summer by BWW News Desk - Mar 21, 2013
Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) has announced that single tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Playhouse Productions summer season. The world premiere of a new play by four time Tony Award -winning playwright Terrence McNally has been added to the list of previously announced shows. It will star Tony and Emmy Award- winner Tyne Daly. The balance of the season is made up of acclaimed musicals and plays and a production specifically for families. The summer season kicks off on Thursday, May 23rd at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street, New Hope, PA). (more...)

Fogel; A return engagement of In The Mood, a 1940s swing dance musical revue featuring the String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra and the In The Mood Singers; and legendary comedian David Steinberg's one man show: David Steinberg: Might Be Something Big…Might Not. The event is a celebration of the professional music theatre company's mission, with a focus on its patrons, supporters, and advocates. Dave White, of Delaware County Council, introduced the evening with special mention given to the theatre's educational opportunities and The State Street Miracles. Bucks County Playhouse has announced that Charles Busch's Tony Nominated play The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, directed by four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines will be the final production of the 2013 Summer season. The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) has announced that Olivia Oguma (Eve Ensler's Emotional Creature) will join Adriane Lenox and Andrea McArdle for the limited engagement of The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler and directed by Karen Carpenter. Oguma replaces Elizabeth Ashley who regretfully had to withdraw due to personal reasons and hopes to return to The Playhouse stage in the near future.
