Garnering more than two dozen Gemini® nominations and the sole 2016 'Fan's Choice Award' at the Canadian Screen Awards for Yannick Bisson, MURDOCH MYSTERIES: Home for the Holidays makes its DVD/Blu-ray debut on September 18, 2018 from Acorn TV. Set in Toronto in the late 1890s and early 1900s during the age of invention, Murdoch Mysteries (aka The Artful Detective) centers on Detective William Murdoch (Bisson), a methodical and dashing detective, who enlists radical new forensic techniques to solve some of the city's most gruesome murders. This DVD/Blu-ray 1-Disc features a feature-length Christmas special from Season 11 and bonus behind-the-scenes featurettes ($24.99, Amazon.com). Murdoch Mysteries: Home for the Holidaysmade its U.S. debut in December 2017 on Acorn TV. The series is currently in production on Season 12. Broadway star Chilina Kennedy, currently starring in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, is launching her own theatre company in Toronto, according to The Globe and Mail.

Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing announced today that Abby Mueller will play the title role in the Broadway company of Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, beginning March 7, 2017. Mueller, who originated the role in the first national tour of Beautiful, will be taking over for Broadway's current 'Carole,' Chilina Kennedy, while Kennedy heads to her hometown to headline the show at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theater from June 27 - August 20, 2017. Kennedy will be joined in the Toronto production by Liam Tobin, who originated the role of 'Gerry Goffin' on tour. Kennedy will return to the Broadway production following the Toronto run of Beautiful.

The abundantly talented Jake Epstein returns to Broadway's Beautiful :The Carole King Musical this fall and is savoring the experience of stepping back into a role he originated almost three years ago, as one of rock and roll's top songwriters. Gerry Goffin wrote the lyrics to some of the most celebrated masterpieces that not only defined a generation, but also continue to pierce the hearts of human beings everywhere -- as they stem from themes that are most pertinent to our nature. Themes of love, loss, confusion, joy, and pain all bleed into the words and melodies that Goffin created with songwriting partner and first wife -- the beloved Carole King. Despite a recent report in Time Out New York- which stated that Beautiful would play its final performance this December- BroadwayWorld has learned that the show has no plans to leave Broadway anytime soon.

The World Premiere of Straight, a new play written by Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola and directed by Andy Sandberg (Application Pending), will conclude its off-Broadway run this Sunday, May 8 after having played 101 performances at The Acorn Theatre @ Theatre Row (410 W 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036).
