Jake Epstein

Jake Epstein made his professional stage debut in Our Town at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in 1999. He subsequently played the Artful Dodger in Oliver! at the Princess of Wales Theatre from 1999 to 2000. In 2009, he starred as C.B. in Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead and joined the first national tour of Spring Awakening as Melchior Gabor, remaining with the production through 2010.

In 2011, Epstein played Tony Elliot in the original Canadian production of Billy Elliot the Musical in Toronto. He subsequently played Will in the first national tour of American Idiot, beginning in 2011. In 2012, he made his Broadway debut in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark as the alternate Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Epstein originated the role of Gerry Goffin in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical in its 2013 pre-Broadway engagement in San Francisco and on Broadway beginning in 2013. He left the Broadway production in 2014 and returned to the role in 2016. In 2016, he starred Off-Broadway in Straight.

In 2019, Epstein premiered his solo cabaret Boy Falls From the Sky at the Toronto Fringe Festival. The production was subsequently presented at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto in 2022 and toured venues across Canada. In 2025, he starred as Frank Carter in the pre-Broadway engagement of Life After in Toronto.

Epstein began his television career with an appearance on The Zack Files. He played Craig Manning on Degrassi: The Next Generation for five seasons and later returned for guest appearances during seasons six through eight. He also played Chuck Russink on Designated Survivor from 2016 to 2018.
