Burning Coal Theatre Company will present ONCE, directed by Nathalie Ray. Once is set in Dublin, Ireland, and follows the story of an Irish street musician, known only as 'Guy,' who is on the verge of giving up his dreams of a music career.

Once is a musical based on the acclaimed film of the same name. It remains the only musical to have won an Oscar Award, Grammy Award, Olivier Award, and Tony Award—an OGOT, if you will. If the accolades don’t ring a bell, this movie-turned-musical also inspired another movie, Begin Again starring Mark Ruffalo and Kiera Nightly.

Premiering in New York in 2012 and winning eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, Once is now coming to Scotland for the very first time. The original creative team reunite to bring this modern classic to the stage, opening Alan Cumming’s inaugural season as Artistic Director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
