Today, September 30, 2012, fourteen actors, actresses, critics, playwrights - and even an astronaut - will be inducted into the newest class of THE PLAYERS Hall of Fame, John Martello, Executive Director of THE PLAYERS, has announced. For the 5th time in its history, The PLAYERS will commemorate each of the new, 14 inductees with a fine-art portrait that will become part of THE PLAYERS' permanent collection. The unveiling is at a special fundraising dinner at the landmarked Booth mansion at 16 Gramercy Park South, (East 20th off Park Ave.) New York City.

Segal Theatre Center (Frank Hentschker, Executive Director) presents a day of readings, panels, rarely-heard recordings and screenings of unseen footage all dedicated to understanding "The Group Theatre and How it Changed American Culture." A long-time fan of the show, Ted Linhart, senior vice president of research for USA Network and CLOO, chose his favorite 12 episodes to be a part of the marathon which feature a variety of episodes including Diane Keaton in one of her earliest roles.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Tyne Daly, Ben Vereen, Ann Roth, Daniel Sullivan, George White, Elliot Martin and Woodie King Jr., and Paul Sills will be inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame this year. According to the NY Times, Cherry Lane Theatre's Angelina Fiordellisi, will resign as Artistic Director sometime between March and June of 2011. Additionally, Fiordellisi plans to sell the building, which has been a Greenwich Village staple since 1924, due to ongoing financial struggles.
