Ghostlight Records will celebrate the release of the Original Cast Recording of Barry Wyner's new musical CALVIN BERGER with a concert at Joe's Pub the evening before the release - next Monday, September 24, 2012 at 7pm. Just added to the concert lineup are Curt Hansen (Next to Normal), F. Michael Haynie (Dogfight), Hayley Podschun (Chaplin), and Tony nominee Tim Jerome (Tarzan, Me and My Girl). They join the previously announced concert cast, who are also featured on the Calvin Berger recording: Noah Weisberg (Legally Blonde, South Pacific), Krystal Joy Brown (Leap of Faith), David Hull (Wicked) and Dana Steingold (Spelling Bee). According to the New York Times, Diane Paulus' upcoming production of Pippin might be heading to Broadway after it plays Cambridge's American Repertory Theater in December. Patrick Healy writes that producers Barry and Fran Weissler are looking into backing the show for a Broadway run. A spokesman told NYT: "It's a project that Barry and Fran are very interested in. They're huge fans of Diane. Right now they're just supporting the project." (more...)

Life is imitating art for leading man Raza Jaffrey, as CHICAGO producer, Barry Weissler spotted him in the new Steven Spielberg TV series Smash, and immediately offered him the role of Billy Flynn in the West End production of the musical. He will star in CHICAGO at the Garrick Theatre from 16 May to 14 July, playing the role between present Billy, David Bedella, who leaves the cast on 12 May, and Olympian Robin Cousins, who joins on 17 July. The Maltz Jupiter Theatre presents the final show of its 2011/12 season Hello, Dolly! through April 1, directed by TonyŽ-nominated director and choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge and starring Broadway veteran Vicki Lewis and TonyŽ winner Gary Beach. Composer and lyricist Jerry Herman was in the audience at last night's show. Terence Maynard Joins Cast of West End's CHICAGO by BWW News Desk - Dec 16, 2011
Darius Campbell will finish his current run as Billy Flynn in CHICAGO on Saturday 24 December. Terence Maynard will return to the role on Monday 26 December. America Ferrera and Amra-Faye Wright will star as Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly until Saturday 31 December. From Monday 2 January, the roles of Roxie and Velma will be played by Sarah Soetaert and Rachel McDowall. James Doherty will continue as Amos Hart, Jasna Ivir as Mama Morton and R.
