THE LUCIE ARNAZ AWARDS In California Announce Their Winners For The 2018 NHSMTA

On Sunday, May 20, at The Annenberg Theatre in Palm Springs Marisa Moehno of Murrietta Valley High School and Garrett Hoy of Musical Theatre University were named the LucieA Award Winners for Outstanding Actress and Actor, respectively, at the Lucie Arnaz Awards for High School Musical Theatre. The Lucie Arnaz Awards were created and founded by David Green, who's Broadway alumni include Tony nominees Stephanie Block, Susan Egan, Lindsay Mendez and Matthew Morrison, to name a few, in collaboration with Ms Arnaz in an effort to support, sustain, grow and inspire quality performing arts experiences for young people in The Inland Empire.

NEXTGEN BROADWAY, the premiere performing group from David Green's Musical Theatre University in Southern California have recorded an anthem to support the efforts of March for Our Lives, the organization which supports the end of gun violence in schools, following the tragic event at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14. As BroadwayWorld sadly reported yesterday, Broadway star Jan Maxwell passed away at 61 years of age after a battle with cancer. The star is survived by her husband, actor/playwright Robert Emmet Lunney, and their son William Maxwell-Lunney.
