RSC Brings Goold's ROMEO AND JULIET et al. to Lincoln Center '11

The Royal Shakespeare Company's 44 member acting ensemble will perform five plays by William Shakespeare at Park Avenue Armory as part of Lincoln Center Festival next summer. Lincoln Center Festival and Park Avenue Armory, in association with The Ohio State University, are bringing the Royal Shakespeare Company to New York for this six-week engagement. This unprecedented theatrical event takes place July 6 through August 14, 2011.
Lincoln Centre to Offer Discount Box Office

The Lincoln Centre has opened a new atrium which will house a box office dedicated to selling day-of, discounted tickets to performances presented at all venues of the Gotham performing arts complex, according to a report in Variety. The box office is scheduled to open January 7.

On Thursday, December 17 at 9pm, SCTV Golden Classics will feature legendary sketch comedy skits by The Second City alumi John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Rick Moranis, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, and Dave Thomas. The exclusive broadcast on WLIW21 honors the 50th anniversary of The Second City, which opened its first theatre December 16, 1959 in Chicago, and spawned the Emmy Award-winning SCTV in 1976, launching the careers of comedy luminaries ranging from Alan Arkin and Joan Rivers to John Belushi, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, and Stephen Colbert. Distributed by WLIW21 in association with WNET.ORG, SCTV Golden Classics will air nationwide on public television stations beginning March 2010 (check local listings).
