FOX has picked up comedies THE LAST MAN ON EARTH and BROOKLYN NINE-NINE for the 2016-2017 season, it was announced today by David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. Emmy Award nominee THE LAST MAN ON EARTH received a third-season order and Golden Globe winner BROOKLYN NINE-NINE was renewed for a fourth season.

Through out the past week, BroadwayWorld has been brinigng you coverage of the 67th Annual Emmy Awards with a decidedly theatre-specific focus, and tonight will be no different. At some point during the tedious Red Carpet, I will begin live blogging everything from the Andy Samberg's hosting performance to the awards to the acceptance speeches, and everything inbetween. Directed by Obie Award winner Liesl Tommy and featuring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o in her New York stage debut, this powerful story of survival and resilience begins previews at The Public Theater Tuesday, September 29 and was originally scheduled to run through Sunday, November 8. It will now run an additional week through Sunday, November 15 with an official press opening on Wednesday, October 14.
