Grammy-winning storyteller, humorist, and host Garrison Keillor is back on the road with the nation's premier live radio show, A Prairie Home Companion (APHC). Now in its 39th season, APHC returns to the Filene Center where Keillor will lead an ensemble cast through comedy sketches and musical interludes, as well as perform his signature monologue, "The News from Lake Wobegon." The 26th Columbia University Film Festival Runs 5/3-9

Columbia University School of the Arts Film Program and The Film Society of Lincoln Center have announced they will co-present the 26th Annual Columbia University Film Festival (CUFF), a week-long program of screenings, dramatic readings and special events in New York. The celebration will continue with events to be announced for June in Los Angeles. This marks the second year that the festival is co-presented by the Film Society. (more...)

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory company, launches its G&S Fest 2013, presenting three iconic productions: The Mikado (January 4-6), H.M.S. Pinafore (Jan. 11th -13) and The Yeomen of the Guard (Jan. 18-20) when the company stages its gala return to NY City Center (West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues) . Under the artistic and music direction of Albert Bergeret, the company has, for 38 seasons, presented over 2,600 performances throughout the United States, Canada, and England. Incorporating a 25-piece orchestra, its productions feature contemporary energy while retaining a traditional respect for each of the G&S masterpieces. The champagne gala will feature Albert Bergeret (Artistic Director) and his merry NYGASP Company in G & S scenes, songs, parodies, and the very popular tour-de-force challenge: audience requests performed impromptu with full orchestra! Incorporating a 25-piece orchestra, its productions are highlighted with contemporary energy while retaining the traditional respect for each of the G & S masterpieces.
