The annual Momentum Festival of New Plays at Different Stages will close the 2018-19 City Theatre season with four days of an intergenerational epic, an unconventional comedy, a chilling thriller, and a touching story of hope. Supported by The Fine Foundation, the festival runs May 30 - June 2, 2019, and is free and open to the public, though reservations are required as seating is limited. She NYC Arts announces two new programs, CreateHer, a playwriting workshop for high school students who identify as girls, and their inaugural New Play Residency, to be presented as part of the fourth annual She NYC Arts Summer Theater Festival, a festival featuring eight new full length shows by women writers and composers, June 19-30 at The Connelly Theater (220 E 4th St, New York, NY 10009).

Adrienne Campbell-Holt, founding artistic director of New York's Colt Coeur theater, has been attached to the political drama 'Contested'. It will mark her feature film directing debut.

New Georges presents the co-world premiere of Leap and the Net Will Appear, by Chana Porter, and directed byTara Ahmadinejad. Leap and the Net Will Appear will play June 16-30, 2019 in The Sam at The Flea Theater (20 Thomas Street New York, NY 10007), with opening night set for June 18, 2019. New Georges is an Anchor Partner at The Flea.

City Theatre wraps up its 44th season, appropriately titled Your World Our Stage with creative partnerships surrounding the world premiere of its sixth production, We Are Among Us by Stephen Belber. We Are Among Us investigates the personal cost of war and what it means to survive. It is directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt and will run on the City Theatre Main Stage, May 11 - June 2, 2019. INTAR (Lou Moreno, Artistic Director/John McCormack, Executive Director) and Radio Drama Network (Melina Brown, President) today announced the cast for the World Premiere of Then They Forgot About the Rest, a new play by Georgina Escobar, directed by David Mendizabal. Performances will begin April 13th for a limited Off-Broadway engagement through May 12th. Opening Night is set for April 22nd.

Primary Stages announced today the selections for ESPA Drills 2019, a developmental play program that provides staged readings to four playwrights selected by blind submission, for scripts developed at Primary Stages ESPA. Presented by Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), the plays are workshopped under the guidance of the Primary Stages ESPA staff. All readings are free and open to the public and will be held at The Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) on Monday, April 1 and Monday, April 8, 2019.

The world premiere of HATEF**K, the 2017 Kilroys List play by Rehana Lew Mirza, opens tomorrow, Wednesday, March 13, at WP Theater (2162 Broadway) in partnership with Colt Coeur. Directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (WP's What We're Up Against), this bracingly insightful play stars Kavi Ladnier ("Just Add Magic", "Heroes") and Sendhil Ramamurthy ("Heroes", "Covert Affairs"). The four-week limited engagement will run through Sunday, March 31.

PRIMARY STAGES will present two public "read-a-longs" of Leah Nanako Winkler's Kentucky, a companion piece to her play God Said This, later this month. The First National Tour of Dear Evan Hansen has broken the box office record for the highest-grossing week ever at San Francisco's Curran. For the week ending December 9, 2018, the production grossed $1.64 million despite only playing seven performances. This breaks the eight-performance week record previously set by The Book of Mormon in 2012. Dear Evan Hansen is playing at the Curran now through Sunday, December 30, 2018.
