BIO
Pollan began her career in theatre in the early 1980s, appearing in productions such as Album at the Cherry Lane Theatre (1980–1981). She went on to perform on Broadway in Pack of Lies (1985) and Jake’s Women (1992), as well as in Woman in Mind at New York City Center (1988).
Her film career includes roles in Baby It’s You (1983), Promised Land (1987), Bright Lights, Big City (1988), and A Stranger Among Us (1992), where she portrayed a range of complex, character-driven roles.
On television, she built a prolific career beginning in the early 1980s with projects such as For Lovers Only (1982) and Sessions (1983). She gained wider recognition with her recurring role as Ellen Reed on Family Ties (1985–1987). Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, she starred in numerous television films and miniseries, including The Abduction of Kari Swenson (1987), The Kennedys of Massachusetts (1990), and Fine Things (1990).
Her later television work includes appearances in popular series such as Spin City (1997–1998), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2000), Medium (2009), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2010), and The Michael J. Fox Show (2013). She also portrayed Beth Holloway in both Natalee Holloway (2009) and Justice for Natalee Holloway (2011). More recent credits include Nightcap (2016), Goodbye, Jonathan! (2020), and Inventing Anna (2022).
In addition to acting, she served as an executive producer on the television pilot Anna Says (1999), further expanding her work behind the camera.
