Viewers of Rescue Me, one of television's most intense and affecting shows, will witness the end of an era when the hit series comes to its tumultuous conclusion in early September on FX. Shortly after, on September 13, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will offer the final two seasons as The Sixth Season and The Final Season on DVD in a five-disc set ($45.99 SRP) which includes all 19 episodes and special features including four featurettes, deleted scenes and a gag reel. FX has set its summer schedule with the return of two critically acclaimed original series and the premiere of a new original comedy. Wilfred, FX's newest original comedy, and the second season of Louie will premiere on Thursday, June 23 at 10:00 PM ET/PT and 10:30 PM ET/PT, respectively. Rescue Me returns for its final season on Tuesday, July 12 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.

According to her twitter, Kerry Butler might be guest starring in the August 17th episode of FX's Rescue Me.
