The Theatre’s Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Ricardo Khan wrote this captivating, powerful musical show in collaboration with the Sweet Honey in the Rock company.

Tony, Grammy and Emmy winning Hadestown star André De Shields opened his theatrical concert, Black By Popular Demand: A Musical Meditation On How Not To Be Eaten By The Sphinx, at Feinstein's/54 Below on August 3, with performances through August 7.

De Shields will be joined by vocalists Kimberly Marable, Lori Tishfield, and Freida Williams, with Music Director Sean Mayes on piano and Rudy Bird on percussion.

De Shields is making his highly anticipated Feinstein's/54 Below solo debut with BLACK BY POPULAR DEMAND, a stylish new show that showcases the wit, elegance, and charm that the master entertainer has become known for.

The 2021 John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre is the latest accolade for Tony, Grammy and Emmy winning Hadestown star André De Shields, fresh from his critically-acclaimed turn as King Lear at St. Louis Shakespeare Festival.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents an all-star cast of 54 Below favorites for an evening celebrating the work of American Songbook pioneer, Irving Berlin. His catalog of songs spans the musical rainbow from rag to pop standard to Broadway anthem. Hear outstanding renditions of Irving Berlin's most memorable songs including "Alexander's Ragtime Band", "Always", "There's No Business Like Show Business" and "God Bless America".
