Ruthie Henshall

She trained at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom before making her stage debut at age 19 and quickly establishing herself in major touring and West End productions, including A Chorus Line, Cats, and Miss Saigon.

Henshall’s breakthrough came in the 1990s with leading roles in major musicals. She starred as Fantine in Les Misérables and earned critical acclaim for her performance in Crazy for You, which brought her the first of multiple Laurence Olivier Awards nominations. She went on to win the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for She Loves Me.

Her West End career includes iconic roles such as Roxie Hart in Chicago, Nancy in Oliver!, Marian Halcombe in The Woman in White, and Marguerite in Marguerite. She has also appeared in concert productions including Hey, Mr. Producer! and From Broadway to Hollywood.

On Broadway, Henshall has starred in productions such as Chicago, Putting It Together, and The Vagina Monologues, and has appeared in film and television projects including Law & Order, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and The Case. She has also released solo albums including The Ruthie Henshall Album, Pilgrim, and Love Is Here to Stay.

Beyond theatre, she served as a judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice, competed on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, and has continued to perform in major stage revivals, including Passion and Cabaret. Henshall remains one of the UK’s most recognized and awarded musical theatre performers, with a career spanning decades across stage, screen, and concert performance.
