Robert Score BIO

Robert Score has been a member of Local One since 1989. He was a member of the Electric Department at the New York State Theatre from 1972 - 2003.
As a student at The Juilliard School (1970-1972) Robert became interested in stagecraft and supported Local One during a job action there. Attaining work by shaping up at the Union Hall enabled Robert to return to school and graduate from SUNY Purchase with a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts in 1978. He graduated with an Advanced Certificate from the Labor Studies Program at Cornell University and found the program to be extremely useful during contract negotiations and in regards to health and safety issues.
During his term of office as a Trustee, Robert was assigned to numerous contract negotiations, revived the long-dormant Safety Committee at the New York State Theatre and since launching the all-new Local One web site was appointed its web master, which has since been updated and redesigned.
Secretary Robert Score was the recipient of an International President’s Award at the 2013 67th I.A.T.S.E. Convention in Boston, Mass, for his work in regard to health care issues. He is honored to serve on the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids Board of Trustees and proudly serves on the National Advisory Board of The Actors Fund. Robert was recently added to the Encore Community Services Board of Directors which works with and supports the seniors community throughout the Local One jurisdiction.
