BIO
Rafe Spall is a multi-Olivier-nominated actor who can currently be seen in the relationship-comedy series Trying for Apple. Rafe was seen onstage in the critically acclaimed one-man show Death of England at The National Theatre, and, in film, in the legal drama Just Mercy opposite Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx, as well as Men in Black alongside Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. His theatre credits include Betrayal, directed by Mike Nichols, which he starred in on Broadway alongside Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, Hedda Gabler at the National Theatre opposite Ruth Wilson, and the highly lauded Constellations at the Royal Court and West End with Sally Hawkins. His television credits include the lead role of George in War of the Worlds for BBC, and his International Emmy-nominated turn as Joe in Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror. Rafe can also be seen in the Academy Award-winning film The Big Short, alongside Christian Bale and Brad Pitt, and in Steven Spielberg's The BFG for Dreamworks. Previous credits also include Edgar Wright’s Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, Dan Mazer’s I Give it a Year, Ang Lee’s Life of Pi, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and Lone Scherfig’s One Day.
