Nick Jonas

BIO

Nick Jonas began performing as a child actor on Broadway, appearing in productions including Beauty and the Beast (2002), Les Misérables, Annie Get Your Gun, and A Christmas Carol. While performing in Beauty and the Beast, he wrote the song “Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)” with his father, which was released in 2003 and served as his debut single. He later signed with Columbia Records and released his debut solo album Nicholas Jonas in 2004. Shortly afterward, he and his brothers formed the band Jonas Brothers, releasing their debut album It’s About Time (2006).

After signing with Hollywood Records, the Jonas Brothers achieved commercial success with their self-titled album Jonas Brothers (2007), followed by A Little Bit Longer (2008) and Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009). During this period, Jonas and the band appeared in several television and film projects, including the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana (2007), the reality series Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008), the Disney Channel film Camp Rock (2008), the theatrical concert film Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience (2009), and the Disney series Jonas (2009–2010). He also appeared in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010). Jonas returned to the stage during this time, performing as Marius in Les Misérables in London’s West End in 2010 and appearing in the 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Misérables the same year. He later starred on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (2012) and performed in Hairspray at the Hollywood Bowl.

Following the Jonas Brothers’ breakup in 2013, Jonas launched a solo music career and expanded his work in television and film. He released the album Nick Jonas (2014), which included the hit single “Jealous.” He also starred as Nate Kulina in the drama series Kingdom (2014–2017) and appeared in the film Careful What You Wish For (2015). His third studio album, Last Year Was Complicated (2016), debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. During this period he also appeared in the series Scream Queens (2015), starred in the film Goat (2016), and collaborated on music releases including “Remember I Told You” (2017) and “Find You” (2017).

Jonas reunited with the Jonas Brothers in 2019, releasing the album Happiness Begins (2019). That same year he appeared in the film Midway (2019) and joined the television competition series The Voice as a coach for its eighteenth and twentieth seasons. In 2021, he hosted Saturday Night Live and released the album Spaceman (2021). He also hosted the Billboard Music Awards (2021). In addition to his music career, he appeared in the animated film UglyDolls (2019) and contributed songs to its soundtrack.

In recent years, Jonas has continued working across music, film, and television. In 2023, he released the bilingual single “Maan Meri Jaan (Afterlife)” with King. In 2026, he announced his fifth studio album Sunday Best, preceded by the single “Gut Punch” (2026). He has also worked as a producer on projects including the Netflix series Dash & Lily (2020) and the Broadway play Chicken & Biscuits (2021).

He most recently appeared on Broadway in The Last Five Years alongside Adrienne Warren. He will soon star in the new film “Power Ballad,” starring alongside Paul Rudd.
