Following the resounding success of the inaugural Breaking the Binary Theatre Festival in 2022, Founding Artistic Director George Strus has announced Breaking the Binary Theatre.

It's 1958 and prom is going to be fab with Missy, Suzy, Cindy Lou and Betty Jean on stage to entertain their classmates with the popular songs of the day. Enjoy your favorites from the era, including "Mr. Sandman," "All I Have to Do Is Dream," "Leader of the Pack," and "It's My Party." Ten years later, the girls are together again at their high school reunion. Will they get the "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" they deserve?

In the musical Burt & Me, Joe and Lacey were high school sweethearts, but when they attended different colleges, they drifted apart. Years later, they meet again, and Joe decides to win Lacey back. All it will take is a clever plan, a little bit of luck and the songs of Burt Bacharach.

The All Night Strut! takes audiences down memory lane with songs from the Great Depression through the post-World War II boom years. Meadow Brook Theatre is filled with the beloved music of Irving Berlin in its spring performance of "I Love a Piano." On 5 July, the National Arts Festival's Arena Programme will host the world premiere of AS EVER, BESSIE - a poignant story that has been left untold, until now. Written and directed by Bobbie Fitchen, the play will have two special preview performances at the Galloway Theatre prior to its bow at the festival.

Meadow Brook Theatre wraps up its golden anniversary season with "Forever Plaid" May 25 through June 19, 2016, on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester. "Forever Plaid" was written and originally directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross with music continuity supervision and arrangements by James Raitt. It was originally produced by Gene Wolsk.

In almost non-stop song and dance, 'Once On This Island' tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island in the Caribbean. Tradition forbids the match - but when the gods of water, love and death that rule the island take an interest, just what will Ti Moune give up for love? And can love really conquer all?
