Nathan Fillion is a Canadian-American actor, best known for the leading roles of Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds on Firefly and its film continuation Serenity, and Richard Castle on Castle. He is currently starring as John Nolan on The Rookie.
Fillion has acted in traditionally distributed films like Slither and Trucker, Internet-distributed films like Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, television soap operas, sitcoms and theater. His voice is also featured in animation and video games, such as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in various DC Comics projects, the Bungie titles Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, Destiny and Destiny 2, along with the 343 Industries video game Halo 5: Guardians.
Fillion first gained recognition for his work on One Life to Live in the contract role of Joey Buchanan, for which he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series as well as for his supporting role as Johnny Donnelly in the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl.
The Rookie, the police procedural, has been renewed for yet another season. Currently in its sixth season, the Nathan Fillion-led show follows John Nolan, once the oldest rookie in the LAPD, has used his life experience, determination and sense of humor to keep up with rookies 20 years his junior.
Season two guest stars reprising their roles from the “Monsters, Inc.” franchise include Aubrey Plaza, Nathan Fillion, and Bobby Moynihan, along with Jennifer Coolidge, Rhys Darby, Janelle James, Jenifer Lewis, Ali Wong, Bowen Yang, Paula Pell, Danny Pudi, Cody Rigsby, Jimmy Tatro, Danny Trejo, Joe Lo Truglio and Alan Tudyk.
According to various sources, Wendell Pierce will play the Daily Planet Editor-in-Chief Perry White in James Gunn's Superman, opposite David Corenswet (Clark Kent) Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), and Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), who work underneath Pierce's White at the Daily Planet.
The Comedians with Disabilities Act (CWDA) makes its debut at SF Sketchfest at the Alameda Comedy Club. This comedy troupe, founded by the late comedian Michael O'Connell, features talented comedians with disabilities sharing their unique perspectives.

ABC has set fall premiere dates for its new and returning series for the upcoming 2022-2023 season, including new female-led dramas “Alaska Daily” and “The Rookie: Feds” as well as the newest primetime game show “Celebrity Jeopardy!” Return dates have also been set for “Abbott Elementary,” “Bachelor in Paradise” and “Grey’s Anatomy.'
In part one of the two-part event, titled “Simone,” Officer John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and the LA division of the FBI enlist the help of FBI trainee Simone Clark (Niecy Nash) when one of her former students is suspected of terrorism following an explosion at a local power station. “The Rookie” two-part event begins Sunday, April 24 (10:01-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC.

Her episodes set the stage for a potential untitled spinoff next season allowing the franchise to expand beyond the Los Angeles Police Department.
