American Dance Festival Presents Sara Juli's BURN-OUT WIFE


The four co-commissioners of Sara Juli's Burnt-Out Wife, the American Dance Festival (ADF), Dixon Place, Portland Ovations, and SPACE, will virtually present Ms. Juli's latest work on Tuesday, August 11, at 7:00pm ET.

Dixon Place and American Dance Festival (ADF) are pleased to present Sara Juli's new comedic dance-theater work, Burnt-Out Wife. The performance runs Friday and Saturday, February 21-22, at 7:30pm, Thursday, February 27, at 7:30pm, and Friday, February 28, at 7pm, at Dixon Place, 161A Chrystie Street (between Rivington and Delancey Streets), in Manhattan.

New York, NY (September 9, 2015)—The Museum of Arts and Design's signature dance series, Dance Under the Influence, returns this fall with choreographer, writer and performer Jack Ferver at the helm. Acting as guest curator, Ferver gathers a selection of performances that include works by Leah Cox, Jacob Slominski, Katie Swords, Larissa Velez-Jackson and Jesse Zaritt. Mixing traditional with cutting edge, rigorous with playful, and the familiar with the unexpected, Ferver's lineup showcases diverse artistic practices found within contemporary choreography, and reconsiders dance through his singular lens. Dance Under the Influence, running from September 18 through November 14, 2015,offers a platform for the presentation of bold contemporary works that defy simple categorization.

The New Museum Releases Schedule of Upcoming Exhibitions for Fall 2015


Currently, the New Museum is presenting the first major New York surveys of work by Sarah Charlesworth (through September 20) and Albert Oehlen (through September 13) as well as a new Lobby Gallery installation by Leonor Antunes (through September 6) and an exhibition co-curated with Taipei Contemporary Art Center (through September 6). The Museum is pleased to announce our schedule of exhibitions, residencies, and initiatives for 2015/2016 below. Please note, additional shows for spring 2016 will be announced this fall.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton announce three artists joining the organization's 18-member performing company: Emilie Leriche, Andrew Murdock and Bryna Pascoe. “Each is highly accomplished in both classical and contemporary dance,” says Edgerton, “and uniquely suited for Hubbard Street's active repertoire of works by major international choreographers.” All are scheduled to perform during the company's Fall Series, opening Season 36 with new works by Robyn Mineko Williams and Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo, plus repertoire by Mats Ek and Ohad Naharin, October 10–13, 2013 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.
