MONARCH Premiere Reaches More Than 10 Million Viewers During First Week


Launching as 2022’s #1 scripted debut, the series premiere of FOX’s all-new drama MONARCH has reached more than 10 million viewers across four linear telecasts (Sunday, Sept. 11; Monday, the 19th; and Wednesday, Sept. 14th) and digital platforms, with a total view time surpassing 500 million minutes.

Grammy Award winner Shania Twain, multi-Grammy Award nominee Martina McBride, Grammy Award winners Little Big Town and Grammy Award winner Tanya Tucker are set to guest-star throughout the first season of Monarch. Returning FOX series include 9-1-1: LONE STAR (Season Four) and THE CLEANING LADY (Season Two); comedies CALL ME KAT (Season Three) and WELCOME TO FLATCH (Season Two); THE SIMPSONS (Season 34), FAMILY GUY (Season 20), BOB’S BURGERS (Season 13), THE GREAT NORTH (Season Three) and HOUSEBROKEN (Season Two); and THE MASKED SINGER (Season Eight).

Academy Award Winner Susan Sarandon, Golden Globe nominee Anna Friel, Grammy Award nominee Trace Adkins, Josh Sasse, Beth Ditto, Meagan Holder, Inigo Pascual, Martha Higareda and Emma Milani lead the cast of the new country music drama. Tony Award Winner Faith Prince, Adam Croasdell and Eva Amurri are featured in recurring roles.

Monarch is a Texas-sized, multi-generational musical drama about America’s first family of country music. Sarandon will portray 'Queen of Country Music' Dottie Cantrell Roman and Friel will play the heir to her crown, who is on her own quest to stardom.

The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), along with the New York City Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) and the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) announced today the second cohort of the Made in NY Writers Room, a six-month television writing fellowship that provides mentorship, industry access and financial support to underrepresented writers who reside in New York City and seek to tell stories that are not often depicted on television.
