Iowa Stage Theatre Company, central Iowa's home for award-winning theater that inspires, enlightens and entertains, announces its 2020 Scriptease Play Reading Series, with its first production slated to be KAA-ZOWIE, the first play from renowned journalist Scott Simon of National Public Radio.

Yesterday, May 2, Primary Stages concluded its celebratory 25th Anniversary Season with a special celebrity benefit stage reading performance of Godfather IV written by Emmy Award-winner Tom Fontana ('St. Elsewhere,' 'OZ'), with original music by Stephen Elkins. The reading was a collaborative effort between Primary Stages and the Writers Guild of America, East Foundation, for which Fontana is Foundation president. Proceeds from the reading will benefit both organizations. BroadwayWorld was there to capture the event.

Primary Stages, one of New York's preeminent theater companies, has announced the addition of two special playwriting workshops to their School of Theater Summer 2009 schedule: 'Stage Directions and The Visual Life of the Stage' with Sarah Ruhl, and 'Get The Party Started' with Cusi Cram.
