This Memorial Day Weekend, comedian, actress and three-time Emmy nominee and Saturday Night Live alum, Leslie Jones, will make her venue debut at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of Curio Collection by Hilton, on Friday, May 26, 2023. Jones will bring her beloved comedic style to the stage in a one-night-only presentation of her Leslie Jones: Live Tour. Tickets go on sale to the public on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023 at 10 a.m. PST.

Creative Cauldron announced the hiring of Lenny Mendez, in the position of Artistic Associate. Lenny Mendez (she/her/ella) is a Latina actress from the Washington DC  area. Lenny earned her BFA in Acting and Directing from George Mason University and trained  at Circle in the Square Theatre School on Broadway in New York City. Some past performance  credits include, Queen Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Castaway Repertory) Angelina in  Prom Night (GALA Hispanic Theatre) Natalie in The Proposal (Workhouse Arts Center). 

The legendary Sir Lenny Henry will embark on a brand new UK tour this autumn. Following the October publication of his memoir, Lenny will travel the length, breadth and width of the country with An Evening with Lenny Henry - Who Am I, Again?, opening in Birmingham on 20 October. Idle Muse Theatre Company has announced the appointment of Erin Gallagher as Managing Director. An ensemble member and resident Costume Designer since 2013, Erin replaces founding Idle Muse company member, Lenny Wahlberg as Managing Director. However Wahlberg will assist the transition in an advisory capacity for the remainder of this calendar year. Wahlberg, a founding member of Idle Muse Theatre Company, served as managing director for seven years and directed three productions.

As a bit of a musical theatre geek, admittedly one of the things I look forward to the most each summer in DC is the Sizzlin' Summer Nights Cabaret series at our very own Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre. These ones were winners!

Virginia's Signature Theatre opens its' air-conditioned doors once again for the annual Sizzlin' Summer Nights Series. For two and a half weeks, Signature's intimate cabaret venue hosts an eclectic mix of Signature favorites, DC-area stars, and some of New York's most exciting performers. The cabaret series runs today, July 9 through July 26, with a different performance each night.

Lenny Henry is due to return to the West Midlands to headline Birmingham Repertory Theatre's Autumn and Winter 2014 season. The Dudley-born comedian and actor will star in the stage premiere of Rudy's Rare Records from 4-20 September (press night Tue 9 September), his first role at the theatre.

Liz Kennedy (www.lizkennedymusic.com) had been composing wordless songs on the piano since she was 12, always wondering who was going to come along and finish them for her. By her late '40s, she finally gave up waiting and began adding the lyrics herself. Performing for the first time in her early '50s, she knew she was taking a bold risk. Divorced and remarried, facing the kind of fears that come with the pain of loss, never playing for anyone but her young children asleep on the floor below, she was protecting a budding need for self-expression. She worried that one sharp critique could destroy her deep connection to something that had always been her greatest passion.
