PEAK Performances at Montclair State University continues to introduce audiences to new work from today’s most exciting dance artists with the world premiere of Movement, in which celebrated choreographer Netta Yerushalmy intricately quilts together quotations from a vast array of sources.

On May 14th, 2018, actor and comedian Jon Glaser (Late Night with Conan O'Brien, truTV's Jon Glaser Loves Gear) will host a star-studded gala, celebrating the Obie-Award winning theater ensemble, Elevator Repair Service. Under the direction of founding Artistic Director John Collins, Elevator Repair Service is known for creating original works of theater with an ongoing ensemble of actors and designers. Gatz, their verbatim staging of "The Great Gatsby," was called "the most remarkable achievement in theater of this decade" by The New York Times.

The Museum of Modern Art announces the first monograph on the dancer and choreographer Ralph Lemon, as part of the new Modern Dance publication series on practicing choreographers. Born in Cincinnati in 1952, Ralph Lemon is one of the most significant figures to emerge from New York's downtown dance and performance world in the past forty years. A polymath and shape-shifter, Lemon combines dance and theater with drawing, film, writing, and ethnography in works presented on the stage, in publications, and in museums. He builds his politically resonant and deeply personal projects in collaboration with dance makers and artists from New York, West Africa, South and East Asia, and the American South. Lemon describes his explorations as a "search for the forms of formlessness."

Chaired by Michael Stipe and Justin Vivian Bond, PS122's Spring 2014 Gala will celebrate freedom of expression by honoring actor and performance artist John Fleck, performance artist and writer Holly Hughes, and performance artist Tim Miller-three of the four solo performers known collectively as the NEA 4. In addition, Clara Miller will receive the Shining Star Award, an award traditionally given to a non-artist who has greatly impacted the arts community of NYC. Miller founded the Nonprofit Finance Fund in 1980, which radically changed how non-profits think about their financial strategies.

BAM presents the New York Premiere of A Rite as part of 2013 Next Wave Festival. The collaborative work by Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and Siti Company deconstructs the legendary score through our current cultural moment. ARGUENDO began performances on Tuesday, September 10, and was originally extended through October 13. The show officially opened on Tuesday, September 24, and will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, October 27.

It will now run an additional week through Sunday, October 13 with an official press opening on Tuesday, September 24.

The premiere of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du printemps and the ensuing riot in response to its revolutionary sound and Vaslav Nijinsky's radical choreography has become music and dance legend. Since that fateful night in 1913, this innovative piece of music has inspired countless composers and choreographers. Coinciding with the centenary of the work, director Anne Bogart and choreographer Bill T. Jones present the New York premiere of their collaborative piece, A Rite, as part of the 2013 Next Wave Festival.
