BIO
As a theatre artist, Kaolin Bass has performed Off-Broadway in IN MASKS OUTRAGEOUS AND AUSTERE (Culture Project), MANGLED BEAMS (Public Theater), THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY (Theatre Row), and RAPPACCINI’S DAUGHTER (Metropolitan Playhouse). His regional credits include A CHORUS LINE (Timberlake Playhouse), MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Commonwealth Shakespeare Company), and CORIOLANUS and SNOW IN JUNE (American Repertory Theater). Internationally, he has appeared in THREE SISTERS (Moscow Art Theatre), TOM CRUISE GET OFF THE COUCH (EAT Company, Dublin), and EDWARD 2 (MATC, Dublin).
He helped develop and directed two productions of the vampire rock popera BLOOD/LOVE, culminating in its premiere as a full 90-minute show. Kaolin also served as the Assistant Director for the national tour of WEST SIDE STORY, directed by David Saint, re-creating Arthur Laurents’ original Broadway staging.
In addition to his stage work, Kaolin is also a film producer with credits including TU ME MANQUES (HBO Max), Bolivia’s official submission for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. He has since expanded his work to include both producing and acting, most notably as the lead in the feature film BLOOD RED OX (Tubi) and in the TV series THE GREATEST ESCAPES WITH MORGAN FREEMAN (History Channel).
Dedicated to bold, collaborative storytelling, Kaolin continues to expand his career across producing, performing, and directing in theatre and film.
