Jose Luaces BIO

Jose graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre . After Graduating he won first place regionally and second place nationally in the National Society of Arts and Letters Drama competition. He was recently part of the NYC Workshop of the new musical Big Fish Directed by multiple Tony winner Susan Stroman. Big Fish will be on Broadway in the spring of 2013. After that he Joined the cast of All that Glitters the new musical based on the life of Liberace. He was also spotted as a dancing dog in the National Tour of101 Dalmatian’s and has travelled to Beijing and Edinburgh to perform in Reel to Real Directed by Lynne Taylor- Corbett. Off Broadway Credits include PopArt with the New York Music Theater Festival and Venus Flytrap Opposite Tony nominee Xanthe Elbrick. Regionally He has been seen at Theatre of the Stars, Actor’s Playhouse, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Orlando Shakespeare Festival, Seaside Music Theatre, Caldwell Theatre, and Theatre by the Sea. Favorite roles include Juan in Altar Boys, Arpad in She Loves Me, Chino in West Side Story and Aladdin in Disney’s Aladdin. Check out www.JoseLuaces.com to see what he is up to today.

National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced this year’s casting for the performances of Little Duende, Māyā, Private Gomer Jones, and TL;DR featured in the 33rd Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS. THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE Begins Performances Tomorrow Off-Broadway

Musicals Tonight!'s 20th Anniversary Spring Season opener of Rodgers and Hart's The Boys From Syracuse, begins performances Tuesday, February 13th at The Lion Theatre on Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street).  The comedy farce about mistaken identity, as adapted by George Abbott, will play a limited engagement through February 25th.  The Boys From Syracuse is directed and choreographed by Jonathan Cerullo who has given the musical a  fresh new take with men cast in almost all of the female roles for the very first time.  Tickets are $45 and can be purchased through www.telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200.
