BIO
Jack Lowden began his screen career with an appearance in an Irn-Bru advertisement (2009) and a role in Being Victor (2010). From 2010 to 2011, he starred as Cammy in the National Theatre of Scotland production of Black Watch (2010–2011), which toured internationally. He went on to star as Eric Liddell in the stage adaptation of Chariots of Fire (2012–2013) in London’s West End.
His early screen work included roles in Mrs Biggs (2012), The Tunnel (2013), and the film ’71 (2014). He received the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Ian Charleson Award for his performance in Ghosts (2013–2014), and appeared in Electra (2014) at the Old Vic. He also starred in the BBC drama The Passing Bells (2014).
Lowden gained wider recognition for his role in War & Peace (2016). His film credits include Tommy’s Honour (2016), A United Kingdom (2016), Denial (2016), Dunkirk (2017), England Is Mine (2017), Calibre (2018), Mary Queen of Scots (2018), Fighting with My Family (2019), and Capone (2020). He later starred in Kindred (2020) and Benediction (2022).
On stage, he appeared in Measure for Measure (2018), while his television work includes The Long Song (2018) and the series Slow Horses (2022–present), for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2024. His upcoming projects include Rogue Trooper and Pride and Prejudice (2026), as well as the series Berlin Noir.
