Flushing Town Hall Will Pay Tribute to Albert 'Tootie' Heath
On Friday, June 28, at 8 PM, Flushing Town Hall will present The Queens Jazz Orchestra - A Concert for 'Tootie' Heath to remember and honor the late NEA Jazz Master Albert 'Tootie' Heath, who passed away last month on April 3, just shy of 90 years-old.

Lux Quartet, co-led by pianist Myra Melford and drummer Allison Miller, is proud to present its eponymous debut: a glowing musical encounter with Dayna Stephens (saxophones) and Scott Colley (bass). The program features original compositions by all four band members, exploring philosophical and spiritual themes through the language of jazz. The name Lux Quartet was inspired by the role of light in the diversity of life on Earth.

“Who Are You, Really?” appends a Dexter Gordon quote to a joyously catchy tune that dances around Thomas Morgan's robust bass line and drummer Kush Abadey's assured swing. Iverson will be celebrating the album release at the Village Vanguard in New York City from Jan. 23-28 followed by European and U.S. tours.
