BIO

Faye Dunaway made her screen debut in The Happening (1967) and appeared the same year in Hurry Sundown (1967). She rose to prominence starring as Bonnie Parker in Bonnie and Clyde (1967), earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. She followed with leading roles in The Thomas Crown Affair (1968), A Place for Lovers (1968), The Arrangement (1969), The Extraordinary Seaman (1969), Little Big Man (1970), Puzzle of a Downfall Child (1970), Doc (1971), and The Deadly Trap (1971). She portrayed Wallis Simpson in the television film The Woman I Love (1972) and starred in Oklahoma Crude (1973).


In 1973, Dunaway appeared in The Three Musketeers, reprising the role in The Four Musketeers (1974). Her career resurged with Chinatown (1974), earning her a second Academy Award nomination. That same year, she appeared in The Towering Inferno (1974) and the television adaptation of After the Fall (1974). She starred in Three Days of the Condor (1975), Voyage of the Damned (1976), Network (1976), and The Disappearance of Aimee (1976). Her performance in Network won her the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Dunaway appeared in Eyes of Laura Mars (1978), The Champ (1979), The First Deadly Sin (1980), the miniseries Evita Perón (1981), and portrayed Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest (1981). She continued with The Country Girl (1982), The Wicked Lady (1983), Supergirl (1984), the miniseries Ellis Island (1984), Christopher Columbus (1985), Ordeal by Innocence (1984), and Thirteen at Dinner (1985).

In the late 1980s and 1990s, Dunaway appeared in Barfly (1987), The Gamble (1988), Cold Sassy Tree (1989), Wait Until Spring, Bandini (1989), The Handmaid’s Tale (1990), Double Edge (1992), The Temp (1993), Arizona Dream (1993), It Had to Be You (1993), Columbo: It’s All in the Game (1993), Don Juan DeMarco (1995), Dunston Checks In (1996), The Chamber (1996), Albino Alligator (1996), The Twilight of the Golds (1997), Gia (1998), The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), and The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999).

Her later work includes The Yards (2000), Running Mates (2000), The Rules of Attraction (2002), Flick (2008), The Bye Bye Man (2017), The Case for Christ (2017), Inconceivable (2017), and The Man Who Drew God (2022). A documentary titled Faye premiered in 2024. She was announced as starring in The Evilry in 2024.

On stage, Dunaway appeared in Old Times (1972), A Streetcar Named Desire (1973), The Curse of the Aching Heart (1982), and toured nationally in Master Class (1996).
