CHICO’S ANGELS’ Frieda Laye will return live to the Cavern Club Celebrity Theater stage in CHICO’S ANGELS director/creator Kurt Koehler’s latest FRIEDA THE 13th: CAMP BLOOD.  This short, five-performance run beginning August 6, 2021 will also feature Julie Brown, Dustyn Gulledge, Jenna Perusich, Craig Taggart, Lennon Hobson, Kalan Tauck, Hayes Dunlap and Reba Areba.

On this day in 2013, Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks made his Broadway debut in Lucky Guy, written by Nora Ephron and directed by George C. Wolfe. 

Short+Sweet Hollywood Festival presents a special event: The World Premieres of two short plays by John Patrick Shanley: Our Fantasia, directed by John Hindman and starring Nora Garrett and Graham Sibley; and On the Terrace, directed by Jackie Diamond and starring Dustyn Gulledge and Scottie Thompson. The pair of plays are being billed as Shorts by Shanley. Short+Sweet Hollywood Festival Director is Nick Hardcastle.

On this day in 2013, Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks made his Broadway debut in Lucky Guy, written by Nora Ephron and directed by George C. Wolfe. 

As you relax at cocktail tables with drinks in hand, chatting amicably with others seated near you, singer Marian Frizelle, who we later learn is the director's ex, steps onto one of the two platforms in the room to entertain us with a sexy rendition of "It Was Just One of Those Things," which happens to be exactly the type of relationship action we are about to experience around us. The show then begins as actors walk around among the tables as their characters meet and get to know each other, often speaking directly to audience members who are more than welcome to answer back or give an opinion on how their hook-up chances are going. Without the fourth wall to separate the actors from the audience, everyone is the room has a chance to be in the show - so be prepared!

New York City's trip. theater ensemble kicks off its move to L.A. with its hit production of 4Play: Sex In A Series, direct from a sold-out run in Chicago. The West Coast premiere opens on Valentine's Day (Wednesday, Feb. 14) at the West Hollywood-adjacent Actors Company, where performances continue through March 17.

Broadway For All, a NYC not-for-profit that offers tuition-free training in the performing arts to promising middle and high school students, is accepting applications for its summer conservatory program through Sunday, April 19. The summer conservatory will run in a convenient Midtown location on weekdays from June 29 to August 5 from 9:45 AM - 4:00 PM.

The show was nominated for six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Play, with Courtney B. Vance winning for Best Featured Actor in a Play, and Jules Fisher & Peggy Eisenhauer winning for Best Lighting Design of a Play. Directed by two-time Tony Award-winner George C. LUCKY GUY, starring two-time Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks, is now in its final performances on Broadway. The production, the final work by three-time Academy Award-nominee Nora Ephron and directed by two-time Tony Award-winner George C. Wolfe, was extended by popular demand through Wednesday, July 3 when it ends its record-breaking limited engagement at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street).

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, two-time Academy Award winner and 2013 Tony nominee Tom Hanks may be taking Nora Ephron's Lucky Guy to London. The actor is in talks for a West End opening in 2014, and he elaborated during an interview on tonight's Tonys red carpet, saying there are still 'no definite plans to take Lucky Guy to London', but that 'the idea's in our hearts if not in our pocketbooks - yet.'
