Flying House Productions (FHP) the parent organization for Seattle Men's Chorus and Seattle Women's Chorus, isthrilled to announce that Paul Caldwell will be named the new artistic director, effective August 1, 2016. The organization has flourished under the 35-year artistic leadership of Dennis Coleman, whose retirement was announced in February 2015. Immediately theFHP board of directors began an extensive nationwide search for Coleman's successor; work is currently underway with the Board of Directors, executive director Steven Smith, and Coleman for a smooth transition process. In the coming months Caldwell is expected to relocate from his Chicago-area home where he has worked as artistic director for the Youth Choral Theatre of Chicago, Windy City Gay Chorus, and Windy City Treble Quire.

This is SWC's fourth consecutive year performing inside the historic Saint Mark's Cathedral in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood, as Dennis Coleman's begins his final season as artistic director for SWC. Together Coleman and SWC take audiences on a spooky, spectacular musical journey that includes ethereal harmonies and enchanting melodies. With Hallows in the Cathedral: Spirits Rising the women stir the soul with Schubert and Rossini and raise the spirit with musical theatre tunes from Into the Woods, Beauty and the Beast and Cats.

The Cleveland Orchestra proudly announces its community arts partnership with the 2014 Gay Games, being held this summer in Northeast Ohio. The 2014 Gay Games presented by the Cleveland Foundation takes place August 9-16 in venues around Cleveland and Akron. More than 35 sports and culture events will be held, with more than 20,000 people from more than 50 countries expected to participate and visit the region.

The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced complete casting for Hairspray in Concert, featuring some of Seattle's favorite musical theatre stars and the powerful voices of the 250-member Seattle Men's Chorus. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hairspray's 2002 Broadway debut, this unique concert event will play for six very special performances of glorious and irreverent John Waters-inspired wackiness (Friday-Sunday, June 20-23). In 2002, Hairspray was The 5th Avenue Theatre's first world premiere musical to head for Broadway where it won the 2003 Tony Award for Best Musical and launched The 5th's unprecedented track record for sending new works to New York. Now the smash hit musical comes home, as audiences have never seen it before.

The 5th Avenue Theatre and Seattle Men's Chorus join together in 'con-drag-ulating' Jinkx Monsoon, who has taken the nation by storm - emerging from season five of Ru Paul's Drag Race as America's newest Drag Superstar. Jinkx, the drag queen alter ego of Seattle's own Jerick Hoffer, consistently emerged as a fan favorite throughout the season, and captured the crown last night.

It won the Tony Award for Best Musical and launched the Theatre's unprecedented track record for sending new works to New York. Now 10 seasons later, The 5th collaborates with one of the world's largest and most respected choruses, the Seattle Men's Chorus. Together they will bring this special concert presentation of Hairspray, with all its glorious, irreverent, John Waters-inspired wackiness, back to the 5th Avenue stage for six very special performances.
