Everyone Dance series started as a joint project of Stefanie Nelson Dancegroup and AHRC New York, providing movement classes and performance opportunities for disabled adults. The collaboration resulted in a workshop course that allowed people with intellectual disabilities not only to learn dance but also to teach it – as was the case with Ervine Haskins, a young man from Crown Heights who discovered his calling as a dance teacher when given an opportunity to instruct others. Broadway's Dale Hensley went from milking cows and putting on shows in his living room in the rural midwest to a thriving Broadway career that has spanned almost four decades. It took him 10 years living in New York before making his debut, and then he never stopped. He has learned that a prepared understudy is the only option, getting out of his own way was essential and finding an outside passion kept him sane. Life in the 'all about me' of showbiz can be exhausting. His Act 3 now includes working with special needs groups and bringing Broadway to them. With the group AHRC, he has created a program that enriches the hidden talents in a group of people often forgotten. In return it has opened a door to his heart. Playwright Tom Jones is making some changes to his 57-year-old musical THE FANTASTICKS. Mr. Jones has done a little bit of rewriting of the musical number "Round and Round" which he has always felt never quite conveyed the darker elements he intended.

Off Broadway's longest running musical, The Fantasticks will celebrate its 57th Anniversary on Wednesday, May 3rd at 7PM.

 Producers of Off-Broadway's THE FANTASTICKS have announced that the long runningmusical will close on June 4, 2017   - in its the 57th year. The production originally opened in 1960.

Peter Reckell, the Emmy nominated actor best known for playing Bo Brady, a role he originated in 1981 on the NBC drama Days of Our Lives, will take on the role of the suave and charismatic El Gallo when he joins the cast of the long running musical THE FANTASTICKS in a limited engagement that begins on September 5th and runs through September 25th the show's producers, Al Parinello and Catherine Russell announced today. This isn't the first time the he's performed in the show. Mr. Reckell played the role of The Mute (and covered The Boy) 35 years ago, in the Sullivan Street Production.

The best of Broadway will be performing FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 LITE FM's Broadway in Bryant Park 2016' - a lunchtime series that continued this week, July 14 on the Bryant Park Stage. Hosted by LITE FM's on-air personalities, the 16th annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through Thursday, August 11.

The Off Broadway musical THE FANTASTICKS will turn 57 years old on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 - continuing its run as the longest running musical in the world.

Actor Shavey Brown will be making his Off Broadway debut when he joins the cast of the long running musical THE FANTASTICKS on Monday March 28 - and making theatrical history, as he will be the second African American - and the first since 1977 - to step into the role of El Gallo since the production began performing 56 years ago, say the shows producers, Al Parinello and Catherine Russell.
