DAISY Comes to Great Canadian Theatre Company

Daisy tells the true story of the first modern political attack ad: the a?oeDaisya?? ad commissioned by the White House to help Lyndon Johnson win the 1964 presidential race against Barry Goldwater. The firm they chose was Madison Avenue's Doyle Dane Bernbach (DDB), who created an ad that swept through the public consciousness like an atomic shockwave.
BroadHollow Theatre Company Presents DRIVING MISS DAISY

Daisy Werthan, an elderly Jewish widow living in Atlanta, is determined to maintain her independence. However, when she crashes her car, her son, Boolie, arranges for her to have a chauffeur, an African-American driver named Hoke Colburn. Daisy and Hoke's relationship gets off to a rocky start, but they gradually form a close friendship over the years, one that transcends racial prejudices and social conventions. 
A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2 Comes to Walker

Next up on Weston's exciting new Second Stage is the eight-time Tony Nominated comedy, A Doll's House, Part 2. Opening August 2 at Weston Playhouse at Walker Farm, this recent Broadway hit by Lucas Hnath spotlights Ibsen's famed 19th century heroine, Nora Helmer, as she returns to the place she once called home with an urgent request. One of the most highly sought offerings for regional theatres across the country, A Doll's House, Part 2 will have its Vermont Premiere in Weston.
BWW Review: THE DAISY THEATRE at Centaur Theatre Company

The Quebec premiere of Ronnie Burkett's The Daisy Theatre has been gaining critical acclaim since its opening show on February 22nd at Montreal's Centaur Theatre Company. Burkett has been a legend in the marionette world and continues to push the envelope with his topical shows. He is a craftsman, writer, puppet master, performer, vocal artist and provocateur extraordinaire. He has been creating his own marionettes for decades and is the sole-performer, other than his cheeky and charming characters for which Burkett provides all voices, in all of his shows.

The box office is open for Fredericksburg Theater Company's (FTC's) production of Driving Miss Daisy. Cast in the production are Charlotte Freeborn as Daisy Werthan, Stan Hicks as Boolie Werthan, and Robert King Jr. as Hoke Colburn. FTC Artistic Director Kerry Goff is directing the production. African-American Shakespeare Company to Open 2013-14 Season with DRIVING MISS DAISY, 11/2-17

San Francisco's African-American Shakespeare Company opens its 2013-14 season with a reprisal of Diablo Actors' Ensemble's 2011 production of Alfred Uhry's DRIVING MISS DAISY. Winner of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize, DRIVING MISS DAISY traces the evolving relationship between an elderly Southern Jewish matron and her African-American chauffeur in Atlanta during the mid-20th century. After wrecking yet another car, Daisy Werthan is informed by her son, Boolie, that he has hired a chauffeur for her, a proud, soft-spoken black man named Hoke whom she immediately dislikes and who, in turn, is equally unimpressed with her. As the play progresses over 25 years, the two develop an unlikely bond despite their mutual differences, growing closer to, and more dependent upon, one another.
Newnan Theatre Company Opens DRIVING MISS DAISY, 4/11

Alfred Uhry's "Driving Miss Daisy" opens April 11 at 8:00 pm in NTC's Black Box theatre. This heart-warming story is directed by Tony Daniel and stars Susan Patterson, Gerald Kemp, and Lamar Payne. Daniel, Patterson and Payne have long been associated with NTC and have many shows to their credit. Kemp is a newcomer to NTC.
