BIO
Billy Crudup began his film career with roles in Sleepers (1996), Inventing the Abbotts (1997), and Without Limits (1998), in which he portrayed Steve Prefontaine. In 1999, he voiced Ashitaka in the English-language release of Princess Mononoke. He appeared as Russell Hammond in Almost Famous (2000), and later portrayed Arch Cummings in The Good Shepherd (2006) and had a supporting role in Mission: Impossible III (2006). In 2007, he starred in Dedication. He later appeared as Doctor Manhattan in Watchmen and portrayed Timothy Geithner in the television film Too Big to Fail (2011). He stars in The Morning Show, for which he won Primetime Emmy Awards in 2020 and 2024.
On stage, Crudup made his Broadway debut in Arcadia. He received a Tony Award nomination for The Elephant Man (2002) and another for The Pillowman (2005). He won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for The Coast of Utopia (2007). He later appeared in The Metal Children (2010) and received an additional Tony nomination for a revival of Arcadia (2011). In 2013–2014, he performed in repertory productions of No Man's Land and Waiting for Godot, and in 2017–2018, he starred in Harry Clarke.
Outside of acting, Crudup served as the narrator for Mastercard “Priceless” advertising campaign from 1998 to 2005 and appeared in the parody video The Ballad of G.I. Joe (2009).
