Chapin, Chairman, Board of Trustees; Heather Hitchens, Executive Director) is now accepting applications for the 2012 SpringboardNYC summer program, being held June 5 - 16 in New York City. This July, many of BroadwayÂ’s finest will head to North Carolina to participate in The Performing Arts Project Summer Intensive (www.performingartsproject.com). The Performing Arts Project was formed by a group of respected industry professionals to educate young performers in all aspects of the performing arts. Under the Artistic Direction of Jonathan Bernstein (Broadway: Chicago, The Iceman Cometh), The Performing Arts Project Summer Intensive artists include Tony winners Laura Benanti and Billy Crudup as well as Tony nominees Hunter Bell, John Ellison Conlee, Gavin Creel, Nancy Dussault, Christopher Gattelli, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Smash's Brian d'Arcy James as well as Broadway casting director Dave Clemmons, Dexter's Josh Cooke, The Good Wife's Monica Raymund and This Means War's Abigail Spencer, among many others. The Guthrie Theater just completed a four-week run of Obie Award-winning playwright Adam Rapp's The Edge of Our Bodies, an intimate and intriguing story of Bernadette, a young woman at the threshold of adulthood on a harrowing journey in search of experience. This marks the first time that a production of Rapp's work was performed at the Guthrie Theater. The Guthrie's production featured Minnesota native and recent New York transplant Ali Rose Dachis who wowed audiences last year with her turn as Lauren in the Guthrie's Circle Mirror Transformation. Dachis is a 2009 graduate of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program. Guthrie Associate Director of Studio Programming Benjamin McGovern directed this powerful and insightful story. Rapp recently stopped by the production, and you can check out a photo below! Michael C. Hall to Star in BIG FISH on Broadway?

As reported by Variety, the Showtime network and actor Michael C. Hall, star of Showtime's hit series "Dexter", have been locked in contract negotiations for several months. Now Variety reports that if an agreement can be successfully reached between the cable network and the actor, Hall would be allowed to star in the upcoming Broadway musical adaptation of Tim Burton's, BIG FISH. Michael C. Hall in Talks to Lead BIG FISH on Broadway; Susan Stroman to Direct

According to Deadline.com, Broadway veteran Michael C. Hall is in negotiations to lead an upcoming Broaway production of BIG FISH. Susan Stroan will direct the stage adaptation of the Tim Burton film, which will feature music by Andrew Lippa. Hugh Jackman was originally rumored to star inthe production, but 'his movie schedule got in the way and the producers turned to Hall.' ( more...)
