Alan Paul Named Artistic Director Of Barrington Stage Company
The Board of Trustees of Barrington Stage Company have announced that Alan Paul as the company's new Artistic Director. Paul, who is currently the Associate Artistic Director of the Tony Award-winning Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC, will succeed Julianne Boyd, BSC co-founder and Artistic Director, who is retiring at the end of the 2022 season after leading the company for 27 years.
Artistic Director Robert Walsh Will Step Down From Gloucester Stage Company
Gloucester Stage Company's Artistic Director Robert Walsh has announced his intention to step down at the end of 2021. The Gloucester Stage Board of Directors has appointed Paula Plum as the Interim Artistic Director as they begin a transparent and equitable search process for the next artistic leader of the Company.
Virginia Stage Company Announces New Producing Artistic Director
After a national search, Virginia Stage Company is excited to announce the appointment of Tom Quaintance to the position of Producing Artistic Director. Quaintance will work with the Virginia Stage board and staff over the next few months and begin in full on December 1, 2016. Previously, Quaintance served as the Artistic Director of Cape Fear Regional Theatre, an Associate Artist with PlayMakers Repertory Company and Open Fist Theatre Company, and was the Founder and Artistic Director of FreightTrain Shakespeare in Los Angeles.
San Jose Stage Company Artistic Director Honored at Faces of Theatre Bay Area 40@40 Celebration
Randall King, San Jose Stage Company's Artistic Director and Co-founder, was honored last night by Theatre Bay Area at their Faces of Theatre Bay Area 40@40 Celebration held at the SHN Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco. King was feted, along with 39 of his peers, for his tremendous contributions and commitment to the Bay Area theatre community for the past 35 years. Over 150 artists, arts leaders, advocates and sponsors enjoyed an evening of musical performances, backstage tours of A.C.T.'s new Strand Theater and the historic SHN Orpheum Theater, and a silent auction benefiting Theatre Bay Area.
