Jessica Kirson and Monty Franklin Come to ComedyWorks


Jessica Kirson is a powerhouse on stage.  Her act is a performance unlike any comedian you've ever seen.  An 18-year veteran of comedy, Jessica was awarded 'Best Female Comic' by the MAC association in New York City and recently accepted the Nightlife Award for 'Best Stand-up Comedian' in NYC.  Jessica's comedic character videos have a collective 30 million views on her YouTube Channel, The Jessy K Show.  Her podcast, Fat Pig, tackles food obsession and honesty in all things gluttony.  Featured guests include actress Edie Falco, celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli and even Jessica's psychiatrist mother.

PLENTY, Starring Rachel Weisz, Extends Again at The Public


The Public Theater has announced a final extension today for the first major New York revival of PLENTY, written by David Hare. Directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux, the show began performances on Tuesday, November 4 and was originally extended through Sunday, November 20. It will now run through Thursday, December 1, with an official press opening Sunday, October 23.

Happy Birthday, Christopher Sieber! Sieber made his Broadway debut as Agis in the musical Triumph of Love with Betty Buckley and F. Murray Abraham. Following this role, he appeared as a replacement in the roles of Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Trevor Graydon in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Billy Flynn in Chicago. Sieber played the role of Rapunzel's Prince and shared the role of the Wolf with Gregg Edelman in the revival of Into the Woods in 2002. In March 2005, Sieber originated the role of Sir Dennis Galahad in the Broadway musical Monty Python's Spamalot. He starred as Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical which opened on Broadway on December 14, 2008, after an out-of-town tryout in Seattle. On March 11, 2011, Sieber replaced Jeffrey Tambor as Georges in the Broadway production of La Cage Aux Folles opposite Harvey Fierstein.

Stage Door Inc. opens its 2014 season with Spamalot, a musical comedy 'lovingly ripped off from' the 1975 comedy 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail.' It tells the story of the King Arthur legend in a delightfully irreverent, highly historically inaccurate, hilarious way. In a tribute to the film, only six actors are used to portray the majority of characters in the show. With musical numbers such as 'You Can't Succeed on Broadway' and 'The Fish Schlapping Song,' it's a typical Monty Python production.

Julesworks presents edition twenty-one of Santa Fe's Monthly Variety Show, The Julesworks Follies, on Monday, December 30th at 6 pm. We are excited to stage our show once again at the newly reopened Jean Cocteau Cinema at 418 Montezuma. We had a good turnout for our first show there, in spite of being well snowed in.
